  1. The reward-loop point is the one I'd put first in the proposal itself. A short repeatable format only helps returning players if the first step is obvious the moment they log in, so spelling out the loop in one sentence in the event announcement is worth more than fine-tuning the date. On the metrics question, separating new registrations from returning logins also needs a baseline — compare each event against ordinary weeks, not just against other events, or a busy holiday period will look like success on its own.
  2. Splitting the metrics between new registrations and returning logins is the right way to test dnsPacanele's claim about engagement. A short repeatable format does seem to fit a community server better than one long session, and it lets people drop in around their own schedule. One thing I'd watch: a themed event getting visibility depends less on the calendar window and more on how clearly the reward loop reads to someone who hasn't logged in for months. If returning players can't grasp the activity in a sentence, the timing won't save it.
