Hey guys, I’ve seen a lot of people asking how to boost their CS 1.6 server with redirects, so I decided to write a quick tutorial based on what I use. This method works for both Steam and Non-Steam clients, very similar to how csservers.ro used to work back in the day.
That’s all. The script installs itself, sets up everything, and in about 5 minutes your VPS will start showing up in MyVPS dashboard. From there, you can launch redirects and watch players connect live.
Notes & Tips
If you get permission errors, just run it as root.
If curl or wget are missing, the installer grabs them automatically.
Tested personally on Ubuntu 24.04, but 22.04 should also work fine.
Why use redirects?
Redirects = free players. Your server fills up faster, ranks higher, and feels alive. If you run tournaments, mods, or just want a bigger community, this is the easiest way to get there.
